VSO 2022-2023 Orchestra Auditions for:

All Strings, Clarinet, and Oboe

Advance Registration and Audition Deposit Required.

Deadline for Registration: Monday, September 5th

Audition Excerpts

Oboe, Clarinet, Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass

There will be an optional virtual first round for out-of-town candidates.

Audition times will be scheduled by appointment after registration is complete and the deposit is received.

Auditionees will play selected excerpts plus a solo of their choosing. The video submission should include the same and be submitted via YouTube or Vimeo link.

VSO 2022-2023 Chorale Auditions

Audition sign-ups are open for this season’s Valley Symphony Chorale!

Interested singers should confirm their availability for the schedule below, and then email Dr. Sean Taylor at Sean.Taylor@utrgv.edu to request an audition time on either Monday, August 29th or Monday, September 5th.  Audition times will be assigned between 7:15pm and 9:00pm and will take place in the Choir Room of the UTRGV Performing Arts Center in Edinburg.  

The audition will consist of the following:

  1. Vocal exercises to demonstrate range and quality
  2. Singing My Country Tis of Thee in the preferred key
  3. Singing your preferred voice part a capella on the two excerpts (Many Moods of Christmas and Exultate Deo)

Valley Symphony Chorale is a volunteer chorale, and all participating members will receive one complimentary ticket to “A Touch of Frost” *
